QOTD?

Do you have a life insurance policy on your significant other? Baby Daddy? Baby Mama?

Would you consider getting one and why?

  1. First of all, I have to tell you how I found you and why I checked out your blog. You commented just after me on Tikeetha’s post today on women. I looked at the title of your blog and it was instant like! You see I suffer from OCD and, of course, perfectionism. My doctor told me a story about the Persian rug makers. They would weave in a flaw (that only they knew about) because perfectionism was an affront to their God. So, my project was to insert a flaw into things I did. I handled the computer in our church tech booth and would do something on one or more of the song slides. It was okay at first and I thought it was helping…until I realized I was looking for the perfect flaw – I became more obsessed than ever. So I now just try not to fix a flaw or mistake I made and accept it. I think it is working. So, of course, your “Perfectly Flawed Ruby” caught my attention.

After that long explanation, to answer your question. No, I do not have an insurance policy on my husband and he doesn’t have one on me. We were approached once and were considering going with them until they refused to put a policy on me because of my bipolar, even though it has been manageable for over 10 years! We should get them and wills as well! Good question by the way.

    1. Nice to meet you! Thanks for checking me out. My blog title is two fold. It is dedicated to my mother whom I try to live my life after and for do long, I felt that I had to be the perfect wife, mother, sister, friend…everything someone needed and then I found myself! Its ok to be flawed, that is what makes you unique! I think we all are bipolar! You just are diagnosed. I will check out your blog. We both have insurance on the job and I wanted and needed more because our jobs may not last long and needed something extra. You guys need to check into something, I am guessing they denied you because of possible suicidal tendencies and erratic behavior.

  2. You should have life insurance on the other parent – even if they don’t work outside the home, because if they die, you have to replace their contribution with child care. It might not need to be a HUGE policy, but the funeral can cost $10k plus and I don’t know about you, but I don’t have quite that much under my mattress….
