On October 3rd, we celebrated 12 years of MARRIAGE! This is a feat within itself. Unfortunately, we were not together. I had to work but we exchanged gifts. We have been together for 17 years and married for 12. The journey has not been easy and there have been many challenges, victories, and some heartache, but we have managed to push through it all. He knows what I need and want and there isn’t a day that goes by that he shows his love for me and the same for me.
He makes me laugh and smile. He tells some of the corniest jokes. I love his curly hair. I love his scent. I love his gap. I love his full lips. He is a great father, lover, provider, husband and friend. He loves to sing and dance and keeps me on my toes. He is my opposite. He is loud and I am quiet…we complement each other. This is an old picture of us together in 2012.
I have not always been the wife that he needed me to be and I had to make some changes within myself. Life is a journey and if you want something really bad, you will do what is necessary to get and keep it. I come from a divorced home and it was difficult. Divorce is the quick fix to many marriage solutions. Now don’t get me wrong, there are some instances in which DIVORCE is the answer. Thank God that we decided to work things out. We continue to grow with each other and I communicate more.
Happy 12th Anniversary.
